A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the face and chest after interrupting an argument between two other men in the parking lot of the Merced Grocery Outlet on Friday afternoon, according to the Merced Police Department.
The victim's wounds were life-threatening and he was taken to a Modesto hospital. His condition is unknown.
According to witnesses, the victim was stabbed just after 5 p.m. when he approached two men who where in the middle of an argument in the parking lot of the Grocery Outlet in the 1100 block of West Main Street. One of the men then stabbed the victim in the face and chest and ran away in the direction of R Street.
The suspect is described by police as a 28-year-old Latino male, about five feet, nine inches tall and roughly 170 pounds.

The suspect is wanted for felony aggravated assault.
