A traffic stop resulted in two arrests after a parolee ran from a car and hid under a home on West 18th Street, causing police to canvass the area and bring in a K-9.
The incident began around 11 p.m. Friday when a Merced police officer pulled over a Honda Accord driven by Rhina Herrera, 52, of Atwater. Herrera was pulled over in the 900 block of West 16th Street for miscellaneous mechanical violations, according to a Merced Police Department news release.
During the stop, Bryce Granado, 23, of Atwater, ran from the car and crawled beneath a home in the 900 block of West 18th Street, the release said.
A K-9 was deployed, and the dog bit Granado. He surrendered and was taken into custody. Granado was taken to Mercy Medical Center Merced for treatment before being booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of resisting arrest, having a felony warrant for false impersonation and a parole violation.
