MODESTO — Maria Flores saved the Livingston girls basketball team from disaster.
Flores scored 30 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to help Livingston defeat Central Catholic 54-49 in overtime.
“She just kept working and working,” said Livingston coach Luciana Lacey, whose team remains atop the Western Athletic Conference at 12-1. “All season she’s been our most consistent player.”
Livingston will host Patterson on Monday night in a matchup of the top two WAC teams.

ATWATER -- Amber Gutierrez scored 18 points and Patience Madayag added 17 as Atwater finished off a season sweep of BC.

LE GRAND -- Miranda Flores made three 3-pointers on her way to 12 points and the Le Grand defense shut down Waterford.
FOWLER 64, DOS PALOS 53
DOS PALOS -- Dos Palos cut a 22-point lead down to just three points with four minutes left in the game before Fowler finally pulled away. Brianna Moore led DP with 19 points.
TIOGA 71, STONE RIDGE CHRISTIAN 59
GROVELAND -- Ryan Fletcher poured in 20 points, but it wasn't enough to upset Tioga.
VISALIA -- Kailey Carter, Beka Dawn, Stevie Wills and Brittany Wilson teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay to lift the Merced College women to a sweep of a double dual meet against Bakersfield and College of the Sequoias.
Carter also won the 50-yard breastroke and 100-yard individual medley. Wilson also took home two individual titles in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.
The Blue Devils improved to 3-1 with the wins.
VISALIA -- Justin Westbrook-Gomez won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breastroke to lead the Blue Devils to wins over COS and Bakersfield.
