What was the purpose of the Feb. 7 front-page articles on foreclosure? Were we, who both are self-employed, pay double Social Security and are 67 and 60, supposed to feel sorry for the couple in Oakdale who have refinanced their home numerous times, haven't made a house payment in 31 months, but can afford to pay $2,770 a month if a defunct bank would let them make those payments?
What have they done with the funds that they haven't used to make a house payment? What about all the equity dollars they have taken on their home when they continually refinanced? Do I only wish I had the time to memorize the Fed-ex schedule and have my depression medications doubled and starting on anxiety medications — who's paying for that? He got injured and had to retire; is he working at all or is he living hand to mouth on the very large "injured on the job" incurred retirement from the city of Stockton? And, I guess she isn't able to bring in any income.
Why don't you do an article on people who are busting their humps to be responsible individuals and live up to the commitments they have? Why not do an article on hard working people who are doing everything they can to keep their heads above water?
