Five people were arrested on suspicion of auto theft in Stanislaus County from May 8 to Wednesday.

CHARGES: Vehicle theft

    

SUSPECT: Brandon Edward Anthony Reilly, 22, Turlock

DATE AREESTED: May 8

ARRESTING AGENCY: Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force

CHARGES: Carjacking, auto theft, receiving stolen property, violation of parole

    

SUSPECT: Edward Moreno, 20, Delhi

DATE AREESTED: Sunday

ARRESTING AGENCY: Turlock Police Department

CHARGES: Auto theft, theft or extortion involving a motor vehicle or trailer, receiving stolen property

    

SUSPECT: Daniel Brian Evangelista II, 31, transient

DATE AREESTED: Wednesday

ARRESTING AGENCY: StanCATT

CHARGES: Auto theft, attempted receiving property, violation of parole

    

SUSPECT: Arturo Perez, 23, Modesto

DATE AREESTED: Wednesday

ARRESTING AGENCY: StanCATT

CHARGES: Vehicle theft, theft or extortion involving a motor vehicle or trailer, unlicensed driver, possession of burglary tools, driving while license suspended or revoked

    

Stanislaus County residents can report a suspected auto theft to their local law enforcement agency or call the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force at 545-7316. Call 911 if you observe a theft in progress.

Here's a tip to help prevent you from becoming a victim of auto theft: Whenever possible, park in high-traffic, well-lighted areas.
