Info: The American Cancer Society will host its Comfy Cozy sales event at its Discovery Shop, which has a wide range of new and gently used clothing and accessories, household items, jewelry, antiques and collectibles. Shop hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.   • WOODWORKERS EXHIBIT
  • When: Saturday through Oct. 12

    Where: McHenry Museum, 1402 I St.

    Info: The 16th annual Woodworkers Exhibit, with pieces from the Tuolumne River Woodworkers Association, will be on display at the McHenry Museum. There will be demonstrations every Sunday.     Info: Antiwar activist Kathy Kelly reports from her recent visit with Iraqi refugees in Amman, Jordan. Highlights of her trip include learning about nonviolence groups operating in Iraq and the opportunity to support these and other Iraqis as they struggle to build a productive peaceful future.     Info: The Denair Lion's Club will be holding a community breakfast at the Denair Community Center. Pancakes, eggs, ham along with coffee, juice and milk will be served. Admission is free with donations gladly accepted at the door.

    Info: Hosted by the The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary, the cost for adults is $6, children 12 and under $4. Care packages and phone cards will be sent to someone who has been, or is going to be, deployed to a foreign country if their name, address and the number of military personnel in their unit is provided. The Fire Department is doing a firefighter's fitness challenge, and the hospital dietary department is cooking up some healthy dishes, a cooking demonstration and a kid's cooking corner.     • ROAST BEEF DINNERS

    When: Saturday, 4-7 p.m.

    Where: Highway 49 across from Coulterville Park

    Info: The Coulterville Community United Methodist Church will serve roast beef dinners with all the trimmings, plus beverages and desserts. Suggested donations are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. There also will be a family packet for $25 for two adults and two children. Takeouts are available.
