George Radanovich, R-Mariposa, will sponsor "Academy Information Night" to familiarize high school juniors and seniors, their parents and high school guidance counselors with educational and career opportunities available at the U.S. military service academies. Info: Five Modesto faith groups and the Modesto PRIDE center are sponsoring "Seven Straight Nights," a weeklong national program geared especially toward heterosexuals in support of "fundamental freedoms for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people," according to a promotional flier. The remaining two events are "For the Bible Tells Us So," a documentary film on family struggles with LBGT issues, tonight, and "Building Partnerships: Learning About the Role and Resources of the Stanislaus PRIDE Center" on Saturday. Info: Parent workshop on Asperger's syndrome and autism spectrum disorders is hosted by the church.
