GREEK FOOD FESTIVAL

When: Saturday, noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 313 Tokay Ave.

Info: Bring the family and join in the fun at Modesto's annual Greek Food Festival. Taste authentic Greek cuisine, and take in an outdoor coffeehouse, marketplace, bakery, and tours of the Byzantine-style church. Takeout meals are available. Advance tickets are $12 for adults (includes meal and entertainment) and are available by calling 522-7694. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $7.50 for children under 12.

BALLROOM DANCING

When: Friday, 8 to 11 p.m.

Where: Senior Citizens Center, 211 Bodem St.

Info: The Ballroom Dance Club of Modesto will hold its next dance with music by the Ernie Bucio Band. Dance lessons in swing and rhumba will be given by Heidi and Javier Gomez of You Can Dance Company from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. A break with light refreshments is from 9:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 for members and $8 for nonmembers. SIERRA CLUB/YOKUTS GROUP MEETING

Where: Modesto Police Department Theater Room, 600 10th St.

RUN AND RIDE FOR CANCER AWARENESS

When: Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Modesto Junior College West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Ave.

Info: Memorial Medical Center's Cancer Services will present a fund-raiser to promote awareness, prevention and early detection, and encourage participants to exercise and eat nutritiously. The event includes a 10K run or 2-mile run-walk (registration at 7 a.m. followed by a post-race brunch); and a 63-mile, 30-mile or 12-mile bicycle ride (registration at 6 a.m. followed by post-ride barbecue lunch). CULTURAL EDUCATION

When: Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m.

Where: Modesto High School Auditorium, 18 H St.

Info: Community event fund-raiser, Mexico "Cultural Education" through music and dance. Entertainment: Tribu from Mexico City, dance groups, mariachi, snack bar and vendor booths. Turlock

FAMILY FUN DAY

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Columbia Park, 600 Columbia St.

Info: Come and enjoy a day dedicated to families. This free event will include food, bounce houses, health screenings, music, haircuts and carnival games. There will be booths from community nonprofits and public agencies throughout the area providing information as well as a gang awareness presentation by the Turlock Police Department.
