My main reason is to insure our children receive the best education possible. I am running for a second year term to continue the work we have done in preparing our students for the future. In the last four years: (1) I have trained for many days on how to the be the best Board member possible, and received the Masters in Governance Certification from the California School Boards Association; (2) I have experience with a successful building and renovation program, as reflected in our successful $166,000,000 building program. I am also very experienced with the collective bargaining processes and I want to insure that our staff will continue to be paid competitive salaries. Most importantly, I have first hand experience in implementing a successful strategic planning process that has driven our school district’s academic performance to be one of the best in this State; and, (3) I want to continue to demonstrate my commitment through my many visits and inspections of our schools to insure that our parents and students benefit from the best facilities possible and the best teaching possible. What will your single most important priority be if you get elected?
My single most important priority is to continue to have our District be one of the best at providing a first class quality education to our students and to truly prepare our children to enter the job market and or the universities and to be prepared to compete in a very challenging economic world. What sets you apart from the other candidates?
I have a proven track record and commitment to the students, parents, teachers and staff. I visit schools often to witness first hand the quality of the teaching and the environment that is provided to our students. I do my homework and am I viewed by my fellow Board members as driven to insure that we make the best decisions possible.
