Peter Cottontail won't be the only one hopping along the bunny trail come Easter. Easter egg hunts will dot the valley and foothills this weekend, filling children's baskets with multicolored joy, not to mention lots of candy.
Applegate Park, along Bear Creek between M and R streets, Merced: Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced holds its 19th annual hunt for some 4,000 candy-filled eggs. Three staggered hunts for children up to age 10 are followed by a special opening of Kiddieland. 10 a.m. Free. 761-7883.
