The Modesto Bee News in Education

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I use E-Bee in my class with only one computer available?
Online content can be shared with your students in the classroom via a SmartBoard or LCD projector, which requires access to only one computer.

Is E-Bee available only in my classroom?
Access to E-Bee is not limited to the classroom. You and your students can log into your classroom's E-Bee account from any computer with Internet access - anywhere in the world, day or night.

How do I find time in an already busy classroom schedule to use the E-Bee program?
E-Bee is a destination point that simply replaces the printed version. It is more functional and user-friendly by allowing you to search, highlight, zoom, e-mail, save, print and distribute as many copies as necessary.

Because each e-edition is available for an entire week, you and your students can access and use the newspaper as your personal and classroom schedules allow.

Once E-Bee programs and serial stories are available online, they can be accessed through the end of the semester, allowing you to work the materials into your lesson plans rather than building your plans around them.

In the past, students could take the newspaper home to read. How will they do that when many don't have home computers with which to access the e-edition?
While we understand that some students do not have computers at home, a large percentage do. According to Time Magazine, 71% of U.S. households have an internet connection. Students can utilize school and public computer labs, library facilities and the computers of other family members.

Our children have grown up with computers, and use them for everything from playing games to communicating with their friends to doing research and homework. The E-Bee program is a compliment to the resource and methods our children are already utilizing to get information.

What is the minimum amount of E-Bee editions I can order?
Our minimum order is 10 licenses per day.

How many days of the week can I order E-Bee?
Class sets of E-Bee include Monday through Sunday access.

Are there any administrative procedures that I need to follow after I start receiving access to E-Bee?
You will be notified every two months when an affidavit form needs to be submitted. Use the online affidavit form, fill out the requested information and submit it.

You may also print and complete the form and fax or mail it to The Modesto Bee.
