The senior outside hitter has more than lived up to that title again this season for the Thunder.

With Callahan leading the way, Buhach earned the No. 9 seed for this year's CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division II Championships, which tipped off Tuesday night.

Last week, Callahan delivered Herculean efforts in losses to Golden Valley and Atwater.

On Tuesday night, Callahan produced 16 kills, 24 digs and four blocks in a 3-1 loss to GV. On Friday, she nearly led Buhach to an upset of unbeaten CCC champion Atwater, which rallied from a 2-1 deficit to pull out a 3-2 win (25-20, 18-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12) against the Thunder. Callahan finished the match with 34 kills and 28 digs.

BOYS

TYLER LEE
Oakdale Water Polo

Success has come in waves for the Oakdale boys water polo team this season, and much of the credit for that success goes to Mustangs' senior Tyler Lee.

Lee's consistently solid play helped Oakdale complete an undefeated trek through the Modesto Metro Conference and secure a No. 1 seed for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 Championships, which kicked off over the weekend.

In Oakdale's regular-season finale on Oct. 29, Lee helped the Mustangs keep their perfect league record intact with four goals in an 18-2 victory over Beyer.

Lee then kicked it up a notch this past Saturday in the Mustangs' section playoff opener, scoring a team-leading six goals in a 20-6 victory over Franklin of Elk Grove that sent Oakdale into today's quarterfinal round against St. Mary's of Stockton at Tokay High School in Lodi.
