Modesto girl to compete in national reining horse event

Courtney Yohey, an 11-year-old from Modesto, will compete in the National Reining Horse Association's North American Affiliate Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla., Nov. 26 through Dec. 5.

She recently won the 13-under division of the Northwest Regionals at Nampa, Idaho to qualify.

Riding reining horses since she was 7, Yohey is a member of the West Coast Reining Horse Association and trains with Boyle Performance Horses in Ione.
