RENO -- Colin Kaepernick, a graduate of Pitman High in Turlock, threw two touchdown passes and rushed for a pair of scores to lead Nevada to a 31-21 victory over Hawaii on Saturday.

Vai Taua added 127 yards on the ground and caught a touchdown pass for Nevada (5-3, 4-0 WAC). Kaepernick passed for 184 yards and ran for 114 more for the nations top running game, which gained 315 yards.

Nevada fell behind 14-0 early but scored 28 unanswered points to win its fifth consecutive game after starting the season with three straight losses.

Bryant Moniz completed 29 of 49 passes for 374 yards, including three touchdowns and two interceptions, for Hawaii (2-6, 0-5).

SOUTHERN UTAH 56, UC DAVIS 35, at Cedar City, Utah -- Former Escalon High standout Nick Aprile ran for one score and threw for another, and former Downey High Star Brad Bispo caught a touchdown pass in the Aggies' (4-4, 1-1 Great West) loss to the Thunderbirds (4-4, 2-1).

Aprile, who carried the ball eight times for 56 yards, had a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Dean Rogers early in the fourth. Bispo hauled in a 29-yard scoring toss from Greg Denham in the second period.

Major Gray rushed for four touchdowns and Southern Utah broke a second-quarter tie with 21 straight points before halftime.

FRESNO STATE 31, UTAH STATE 27, at Fresno -- Ryan Mathews rushed for 185 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown with 4:53 remaining, to lead the Bulldogs (5-3, 4-1 WAC) past the Aggies (2-6, 1-3). Mathews, the nation's leading rusher, had two rushing touchdowns, and quarterback Ryan Colburn added 256 passing yards.

No. 6 BOISE STATE 45, SAN JOSE STATE 7, at Boise, Idaho -- Kellen Moore threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another to get the Broncos their eighth straight win. Boise State (8-0, 3-0 Western Athletic Conference) also got plenty of help from its defense, which held the Spartans (1-6, 0-3) to 223 total yards.

No. 8 TCU 41, UNLV 0, at Fort Worth, Texas -- Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes, Ed Wesley scored running and catching the ball and the TCU defense smothered UNLV to get its first shutout of the season. It was another dominating performance for the eighth-ranked Horned Frogs (8-0, 4-0 Mountain West), who probably did enough to stay in position to be this season's BCS buster.

No. 19 UTAH 22, WYOMING 10, at Salt Lake City -- Utah freshman Jordan Wynn passed for 82 yards and a touchdown in his debut, replacing starter Terrance Cain in the second half. Eddie Wide tied a school record with his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game and added a late touchdown to seal the win for Utah (7-1, 4-0 Mountain West).

OREGON STATE 26, UCLA 19, at Corvallis, Ore. -- Jacquizz Rodgers had 112 yards rushing, 96 yards receiving and a touchdown pass, his brother James Rodgers ran for the winning score as the Beavers (5-3, 3-2 Pac-10) beat the Bruins (3-4, 0-5).
