With a strong team score of 289 on Tuesday, the Cal State Stanislaus men's golf team moved up three spots to finish fifth at the weather-shortened Sonoma State Men's Golf Invitational at the Santa Rosa Golf Course.
Bryan Kiss scored an even par 72 to finish with a one-under 143 in the 36-hole tournament on the par 72, 6711-yard course. Kiss placed fifth, five strokes behind individual medalist Matthew Garcia of Academy of Art (68-70).
Chico State won the event for the third time in a row with a 578. The Warriors shot a 587 total over two days.
After battling rain most of Monday with a 298, Stanislaus rebounded with the 289, the day's second-best team score.
