Colin Montgomerie: Montgomerie expects to return to Ryder Cup action despite his omission from Europe's squad for this year's competition. The 45-year-old Scot has never lost a singles match at the Ryder Cup in eight appearances going back to his 1991 debut, but was passed over for a wild-card pick by captain Nick Faldo after slipping to 93rd in the world golf rankings. "I do feel I have not played my last Ryder Cup, but I have to get my consistent game back," said Montgomerie, who last won at the 2007 European Open. "It will be harder next time, so I have to raise the bar as well. But I am determined to do that." Faldo selected Ian Poulter and Paul Casey as his wild cards.
