Save Mart Supermarkets will continue to be as renowned on the national NASCAR scene as the company is in Northern California.

The Modesto-based grocery store chain has agreed to extend its run as a title sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' annual stop at Sonoma's Infineon Raceway. The announcement of a new five-year deal was announced Sunday before Kyle Busch won the Toyota/Save Mart 350.

Save Mart has been either title sponsor or co-title sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Infineon Raceway since 1992, and the new deal makes their association one of the longest in the stock car series history at 22 years.

"Our affiliation with Save Mart Supermarkets represents the strongest, most effective sponsor relationship I've been involved with in nearly 30 years in this industry," said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway, in a statement.

"They are terrific promoters, wonderful partners and I'm delighted to know that partnership will continue."

Save Mart served as title sponsor of the NASCAR Cup event from 1992-1997. It has combined with partners as co-title sponsor of the event since 1998. The last two years, the event has been known as the Toyota/Save Mart 350. The new agreement extends through 2013.

"NASCAR has enjoyed tremendous growth over the years and we are pleased and honored to be associated with the sport, as well as Infineon Raceway," said Bob Piccinini, CEO of Save Mart Supermarkets, in the statement.
