There was some fine scoring in the San Joaquin Travel League during the last meet at Pacific Avenue Bowl in Stockton.
McHenry Bowl's Scott Christensen and Manteca Bowl's Scott Boyle both rolled a 300 game during the competition to share boy's high game in the Major Division. Boyle added a 246 game to finish with the meet's high 2-game series of 546. Jazzmin Goodman out of West Valley Bowl in Tracy topped the Major girls with her 257 game/469 series. In the Major's standings, Harvest Park Bowl of Brentwood is holding a slim one-point lead over Pacific Avenue of Stockton.
Harvest Park teammates Chris Robles, Brett Groves, Robyn Renslow, Chris Mehan and Blake Paris have garnered a 101-win point total.
The second-place Pacific Avenue team is sitting on a 100-win point record. Ali Syverson, Alex Bermudez, Ray Saiz Jr., Kirk Cabacungan and Don Doblados round out the team roster.
In the Classic Division, McHenry Bowl Gold widened the spread of their lead to a 95.5 win record. Teammates Joey Smith, Tyler Kirk, Nathan Fiske, Dakota Riley and Brandon Bates scored 25.5 win points this meet.
Granada Bowl from Livermore is holding second with an 89.5 total. Matthew Trevett, Payton Giambrone, Brian Edmondo, Vincent Salinas Piper and Brandon Klinefelter round out the team lineup. Bates scored a high 276 game/532 series to lead the boys scoring and Kayley Olvera was high for the girls with a 223 game/403 series. Both are from McHenry.
Granada Bowl is holding a 21 point lead in the Junior Classic Division with a 99-win point total. Team roster includes Austin Sivret, Dyami Lockridge, Aaron Trevett, Jake Giambrone and Bryan Bumanlag.
Pacific Avenue Bowl moved from fourth place into the second spot after scoring 22 win points this meet. Jacob Araya, Johnathan Maragos, Harrison Fong, Chad Pecchenino and Forrest Kritzer make up the team. Harrison Ford topped the boys scoring with his 237 game/403 series. Brianna Scheaffer from Manteca rolled the girls high game of 194.
There was a three-way tie for girl's series at 335 between Brittany Scheaffer of Manteca and Kathryn Baron and Mariah Dong both from Harvest Park.
Kathy Ereso took a commanding first on the women's list in the Yosemite Lanes No-tap when she scored a 950 set. In second with an 859 was Grace Webster. Terri Fortunato finished in third with her 841. Larry Barker topped the men's side with his 922 total. Rod Hertzel ended in the second spot when he scored a 908. Gene Althoff's 888 series held the third spot.
This Sunday is the Yosemite Scratch 6 Gamer Tournament of Champions. A field of the area's top 24 bowlers, a combination of monthly winners and top money earners, will compete for the 2007 championship title. The event will roll on five different PBA oil patterns, plus the PBA Tournament of Champions pattern. Local Rick Francis is the reigning champion.
The 'New Year's Eve in Paris' Tournament and Party is set for Monday at McHenry. A light buffet is available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with bowling starting at 1 p.m. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. Reservations are required, call Terry at 571-2695 for availability.

Don't forget the New Year's Day Jr-Adult Double Elimination Scholarship Tournament starting at 11 a.m. Check-in is at 10 a.m. Two divisions -- Scratch or Handicap -- will bowl three games of qualifying. The top eight teams in each division advance to the double elimination finals.
