STANISLAUS YOUTH BOYS CAMPS Cal State Stanislaus Warriors Basketball will host a camp June 23-26, 1-3 p.m. The camp will emphasize fundamentals to help boys ages 7-17 reach their full potential. Campers will be placed in age/skill appropriate groups. Proper shooting techniques and footwork will be highlighted, including individual and team skills. TURLOCK HIGH CAMP Youth basketball camp for boys and girls, July 8-10. BAD TO THE BONZ Tryouts for summer program and providing adult and youth classes. Clinic for coaches by professional coach Tony Avila, former coach of Modesto PAL boxing club and now owner of Bad to the Bonz Boxing Gym. MJC CAMPS The Modesto Junior College football program will hold fundamental camps this summer. The “Hitman” camp for linebackers and defensive backs is June 30-July 1, from 6-8 p.m. The “Trench Warrior” camp for offensive and defensive linemen is July 7-8, from 6-8 p.m. Both camps are $40 and pre-enrolled campers will receive a free T-shirt. HEALTHY AGING The Healthy Aging Association offers free Young At Heart group exercise classes for 60 years and better. Classes range from strength training, aerobics or Tai Chi. The strength training classes uses tubes for resistance and the exercises can be done standing or sitting depending on the participants ability. Tubes are available for first-timers at each site. SPORTS AND FITNESS CAMP Monte Vista Chapel and Calvary Baptist Church of Turlock are co-sponsoring a sports and fitness camp for boys and girls ages 9-13 or in grades 4-8. The camp is July14-18 from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost is $6 per day or $30 for the week. Camp T-shirts and water bottles are also available for an additional $7 and $2, respectively. The camp will be supervised and staffed by trained adult and high school leaders. Each camp will be divided into younger and older age groups.
