BAD TO THE BONZ Bad to the Bonz Boxing Gym is having tryouts for its spring boxing program as well as providing adult and youth classes. There also are clinics for coaches that will be given by professional coach Tony Avila, former coach of the Modesto PAL boxing club and now owner of Bad to the Bonz Boxing Gym. The spring special for youth is $175 for two months. The gym encourages parents to work out for free alongside their children. The gym also offers kickboxing training by coach Gene Fields of Team Voodoo. Free classes on Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon. THREE MJC SUMMER CAMPS The Modesto Junior College football program will hold fundamental camps this summer at the school. The “Hitman” camp for linebackers and defensive backs is June 30-July 1, from 6-8 p.m. The “Trench Warrior” camp for offensive and defensive linemen is July 7-8, from 6-8 p.m. Both camps are $40 and pre-enrolled campers will receive a free T-shirt. The three-day camp for quarterbacks and wide receivers is June 5-7 and costs $125. All pre-enrolled campers will receive a T-shirt and quarterbacks also get an all-weather football and receivers get performance gloves. RIPON CAMP The 2014 Faith & Football camp, which benefits St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, will be held at Ripon High on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day, non-contact camp offers children entering second through eighth grades speed, agility and performance training. It also emphasizes faith, character, leadership and work ethic. Cost is $80 and check can be made out directly to St. Jude’s. Lunch will be offered both days and a camp T-shirt is provided. ELITE YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP Freeman Consulting Presents the second annual Elite Youth Football Camp, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Modesto Junior College football field.
