The Modesto Nuts and Colorado Rockies announced Friday that they had extended their Player Development Contract through the 2016 season.
The affiliation, which just completed its 10th year, is the second-longest in Modesto minor-league history. It began in 2005 when Oakland moved its High-A affiliate from John Thurman Field to Stockton Ballpark, terminating a 30-year baseball relationship between Oakland and Modesto.
During the relationship with the Rockies, the Modesto Nuts have made the California League playoffs 10 times and have sent more than 60 players to the major leagues.
The 2015 Modesto Nuts season will begin on Thursday, April 9 against Lake Elsinore, with the home opener set for Thursday, April 16 against Inland Empire.
