Colorado Rockies right hander Jhoulys Chacin will be pitching for the Modesto Nuts on Tuesday in a rehab start, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post.
Chacin, who went on the disabled list with a sore shoulder at the end of spring training, threw three innings in an extended spring training game on Friday.
As a 20-year-old in Modesto in 2008, Chacin went 8-2 with a 2.31 ERA in 12 second-half starts, after going 10-1, 1.86 in Asheville, and was named minor league baseball's pitcher of the year.
The Nuts open a three-game home series against Visalia on Monday night at John Thurman Field. All three games are slated for 7:05 starts.
