By this point, there’s no question that Colin Kaepernick’s hometown is supporting the Pitman High graduate as he leads the San Francisco 49ers into the Super Bowl. Bakeries are offering Kaepernick cookies and cookies, a hot dog has been named after him, and there’s even a signature drink reportedly from Kaepernick’s own recipe at a local bar.
Now the Turlock Education Foundation is inviting everyone to show support all at once with a “Turlock Believes” tailgate party Feb. 2 at No. 7’s alma mater.
Billed as a family-friendly party. “Turlock Believes” is set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pitman High School, 2525 W. Christoffersen Parkway.
Fans from throughout the area are invited to attend, bringing their own barbecues. What they can’t bring are propane, tobacco and alcoholic beverages.
Never miss a local story.
For those who don’t want to cook their own, food vendors will be on hand. The foundation also will offer fans of all ages the opportunity to record videos and notes of encouragement for Kaepernick.
