Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Orleans Darkwa scored a 1-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter to give the Miami Dolphins a 25-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in preseason action on Saturday.

With Dallas ahead by two in the fourth, Tyler Patmon intercepted Matt Moore and returned it nine yards for a touchdown to increase the visitor's cushion. Moore made up for the miscue, however, hooking up with Harold Hoskins for a 27-yard touchdown to cap a 5-play, 89-yard drive that took all of 1:37. Darkwa hauled in a pass from Moore to complete the two-point conversion and cut the deficit to 20-19 with 5:40 to play.

The Cowboys went three-and-out on their next touch, then Moore orchestrated a 12-play, 55-yard drive thanks to three costly penalties by Dallas. Darkwa plunged in from a yard out with 1:48 to play. Miami failed on the two-point conversion attempt.

Darkwa rushed for 70 yards on six carries.

Dallas couldn't get anything done over the final two minutes as it dropped its third straight game. Miami, meanwhile, improved to 2-1 in the preseason.

Dolphins starter Ryan Tannehill converted 13-of-21 passes for 119 yards and an interception, while Moore went 12-for-19 for 172 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Mike Wallace hauled in six passes for 67 yards for Miami.

Tony Romo went 10-for-18 for 87 yards and was sacked three times in the loss.

John Potter capped a 12-play, 75-yard drive with a 26-yard field goal to give the Dolphins a 3-0 lead early in the first.

Dan Bailey countered with a booming 52-yard make in Dallas' next possession to tie the game at 3-3. Bailey added a 50-yard boot in the second quarter as the Cowboys entered the half with a 6-3 lead.

Miami found the end zone on its second possession of the third quarter. Moore connected on a 54-yard pass with running back Damien Williams, who ended the drive with a 1-yard touchdown and converted the two-point conversion to put the Dolphins up 11-6.

Brandon Weeden found LaRon Byrd for a 27-yard touchdown on Dallas' ensuing possession.
