CONCORD, N.C. - There's another Wood entering NASCAR competition.
Keven Wood, son of Wood Brothers Racing co-owner Len Wood, plans to make his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this weekend at Mansfield (Ohio) Motorsports Park, driving the No. 21 Ford.
Keven Wood has been involved in racing since 2002 and most recently drove Late Model cars. The 23-year-old will be splitting time with his cousin, Jon Wood, in the No. 21 and compete in up to eight Truck races this season.
"I can't wait. It's been a long time coming. We tested South Boston in Virginia and had a really good test," Keven Wood said.
Never miss a local story.
"It's a track that I've raced on in a Late Model and I'm comfortable with. It's very similar to Mansfield, so I'm pumped up to get on the track and race."
While running Late Model races this season and has been spending some time testing with his family's Sprint Cup Series team, most recently earlier this week in Nashville, Tenn.
