Fans longing to see race cars back on the track at Rockingham will get a chance to do that Friday and Saturday as Automobile Racing Club of America teams test at the track in preparation for the Carolina 500 on May 4.
More than 40 teams are scheduled to attend the test in advance of the reborn track’s first event.
The former North Carolina Speedway was purchased last fall by Andy Hillenburg several years after it lost both of its NASCAR Cup dates.
Grandstand and infield gates open at 9 a.m. each day. Testing runs from 9 until noon and from 1 until 5 each day.
