Greg Biffle is running in both the Busch and Nextel Cup races this weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, but his busy Thursday began with a trip to an area tuxedo shop.
Biffle and his fiancée, Nicole Lunders, are scheduled to be married on Wednesday at a resort on the South Carolina coast.
“I got home last night and tried on my tux and it didn’t fit,” he said, “so they opened at 10:30 and I had to be in the Busch car for practice at 1.”
Biffle joked about his honeymoon in Martinsville, the site of next week’s race, but he also got some good racing news when Roush Fenway Racing announced Thursday that 3M has signed a multiyear deal to be the primary sponsor on the No. 16 Fords.
The company is stepping up from the Busch Series, where it has sponsored Biffle and Todd Kluever this year. It will be on the No. 16 for 23 of next year’s 36 races.
Biffle’s contract with Roush Fenway Racing runs out after next year, but he said he has “a 90 percent feeling that I am going to be back here” beyond that because of improvements in the car of tomorrow program at Roush this year.
