Opponents know the key to beating the Knights hinges on their ability to contain Richard, a member of the Bee's 2008 all-Stanislaus District water polo team and a two-time all-district swimmer.

That's been easier said than done this season.

Richard, despite constantly facing double- and triple-teams, has enjoyed another banner campaign, leading the Knights in scoring and into the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Last Tuesday, Richard, a four-year varsity starter, scored a season-best eight goals in a 13-9 victory over Davis. Two days later, the senior hole-set scored four goals in a 14-1 win over Enochs.

JASLYNN LIOTARD
Sierra Volleyball

Senior Jaslynn Liotard has set the tone and pace this season for the Sierra High volleyball team.

Liotard is averaging 10 kills and five blocks per match for the Timberwolves, who own a 10-5 record in Valley Oak play with one game remaining and stand at 15-6 overall with the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 3 playoffs on the horizon.

Last Monday, Liotard had a team-leading 11 kills, six blocks and two aces in Sierra's 3-1 victory over Central Valley. She followed that up two days later with an 11-dig, 10-kill, three-block performance in a 3-0 victory against Lathrop,

"She plays hard every game and gets it done for us," said T'wolves coach Tevani Liotard, Jaslynn's mother. "Once she enters the court, her game face comes on and losing is not an option."
