2 hoops players heading to Oregon

Basketball players Deonte Johnson of Modesto and Marcus Butler of Patterson have signed to play at Division II Corban College in Salem, Ore.

Johnson, a 6-foot, 5-inch guard and 2006 Modesto High graduate, spent two years at Hawaii Pacific, playing in 51 games.

Butler, a recent Modesto Christian graduate, is a 6-4 forward who was fourth in scoring for the Crusaders his senior year.
