The end-game of a contentious league realignment process is about to be completed by the Sac-Joaquin Section. The Board of Managers is expected to ratify the final proposal today in Stockton, and the realignment kicks in for a four-year run beginning in the fall of 2014.

When Kaleb Fulbright took the mound for Enochs High School on Thursday, little did he know a few hours later he'd be trampled by teammates and celebrating the school's first no-hitter.
Dakota Edwards did not throw a pitch for Turlock High last spring. A shoulder injury from a car accident forced him onto the track rather than the mound. Let the record show one year later that Edwards is back.

Upon further review, we have a reversal. Merced High's boys and girls teams left the ninth annual Stanislaus County South Section Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday believing they'd each wrapped up their fourth consecutive title. The Merced boys totaled 390 points, double the total of second-place Oakdale. The girls were in a much closer battle, nipping Turlock's Pitman 353-339. However, given that outcome was so close, meet director Brent Bohlender later went back and double-checked the results, only to realize that Pitman actually won the girls meet, 356-332, ending Merced's girls run a three straight county titles.

There are lots of reasons swimmers like competing in the Stanislaus County Southern Section Swimming and Diving Championships. Regardless of the reason, the Stanislaus County Championships, held at Johansen High School, is the best in-season meet around.
