Rain? What rain? That must have Dylan Day's attitude, because Summerville High's versatile junior played as if it was a clear, sunny day. He caught seven passes for 127 yards and two TDs, and ran three times for 45 years in the Bears' 25-0 win over Le Grand. Day also was in on 12 tackles -- making seven of those himself -- and even picked off a pass.

The Bears' back-to-back wins might be convincing enough to put them in the running for one of the Mother Lode League's three playoffs berth. While Argonaut appears to be the favorite, the Mustangs have been shown to have flaws -- just like Calaveras, Bret Harte and Amador, who are likely to be the Bears' rivals for a playoff berth.

Enochs head coach Todd Sevick visted the Modesto Quarterback CLub on Monday, and the former Hughson and Johansen head coach kept the crowd laughing with a lot of good one-liners.

He also weighed in on the MMC and its perceived struggled this season. Modesto's six public schools all lost last week, and they all lost by large margins. Sevick said, Modesto football hasn't changed a whole bunch since it was part of the CCC.
