There Patterson High football team showed its ready to face its biggest test in the Western Athletic Conference with a dominating 45-7 victory over Ceres on Friday night.
The Tigers scored early and often to take a 42-0 halftime lead, scoring six touchdowns in 11 just offensive plays.
Patterson (6-0, 2-0 WAC) will take its explosive offense into Los Banos (5-1, 2-0) next week in a matchup that could decide the WAC title.
Kendrick Bond led the Tigers’ offensive outburst against Ceres, rushing for 99 yards and two touchdowns, both in the first quarter on carries of 37 and 52 yards.
Michael Lawson scored twice in the second quarter, on a 64-yard run and a 55-yard punt return.
Ceres quarterback Chris Lubinsky was 20-for-28 for 208 yards and a touchdown in the losing cause. He threw one interception.
