CERES — Erica Ballard’s golf game had been inconsistent the last few weeks, but the Hughson High junior was anything but erratic Wednesday at River Oaks.
Her career-best 1-under 26 led Hughson past Patterson 143-162 and gave it sole possession of second in the Valley Foothill League.
“I had three good rounds to open the season, but then I went into a slump,” said Ballard, whose Huskies (7-1) trail Central Catholic (8-0) in the South Division. “I’ve shot a 29, but never anything like this.”
She birdied the 85-yard No.
