RIPON -- Frank Marques turned back the clock as he ditched the spread offense for Hilmar's old Power-I offense.
Hilmar ran the ball 60 times and held off Ripon for a win in the Trans-Valley League opener.

"That's what I told the kids after, 'Welcome to Hilmar football, 1980-style,'" Marques said.
Zack Giuliano finished with 115 yards and Garrett Jericoff added 90 yards on the ground, including the go-ahead score on a 3-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
After stopping Ripon on its next possession, Hilmar ran the clock out with an 8-minute drive.
INDERKUM 19, ATWATER 0
SACRAMENTO -- After scoring 33 points against Beyer last week, the Atwater offense didn't show up against Inderkum.
The passing game never got off the ground as Atwater threw four interceptions.
The Atwater defense kept Bob Valladao's boys in the game, trailing only 7-0 at the half.
Inderkum improved to 4-0. Atwater dropped to 1-4.
LIVINGSTON 41, BRET HARTE 6
ALTAVILLE -- Charles Brown ran for 166 and two touchdowns as Livingston cruised to remain unbeaten at 5-0.

LE GRAND -- Alex Bucio threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns as Le Grand opened Southern League play with a win.
Tight end Zach Moreno hauled in five catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
DENAIR 41, DELHI 27
DENAIR -- Dylan Souza ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns as Denair overcame a 27-20 deficit in the fourth quarter.
