Remember, you might want to get over to the Modesto JC track a bit earlier than you'd planned today for the 67th California Invitational Relays.
The women's discus, featuring Modesto's Suzy Powell, the two-time Olympian, was moved up to noon. She'll renew her rivalry with Becky Breisch, who threw 221 feet, 0 inches last year in Maui when Powell set her American record of 222-0. At last year's Relays, Powell's 213-10 edged Breisch's 213-1.
The opening ceremonies are at 2:10 p.m., with the final event at 6:05. There will be $15 and $25 tickets available at the gate -- the main entrance is off of Stoddard Avenue at the south end of the track.
The Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival begins at 10 a.m. The "Run to the Relays" 5K and 10K Run goes off at 11 -- registration starts at 9 a.m., with the $40 entry fee including admission to the track meet and more.
