Fifth-ranked Cal State Stanislaus shot a 10-over-par 298 total Monday and was tied for fourth place after the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's West Regional at Adobe Creek Golf Course in Petaluma.
Sonoma State shot a 3-under 285 total, Western Washington is at 5-over 293 and Cal State San Bernardino at 8-over 296 heading into the second round today.
Erick Justesen led the Warriors with a 1-under 71 and is tied for fourth individually with Jacob O'Keefe of Sonoma State. Dane Bagnell of Cal State San Bernardino leads at 4-under 68, followed by Patrick Bauer and Jarin Todd of Sonoma State at 2-under 70. The Seawolves have three players in the top five.
Stanislaus was a combined 17 over par on Nos. 7-9, including three double bogeys, a triple bogey and a quadruple-bogey 7 on the par-3 eighth.

Jason McHargue shot a 2-over 74 for Stanislaus and is tied for 14th, followed by Andy Moren at 4-over 76 and Ben Van Vuren at 5-over 77. Moren is tied for 26th and Van Vuren tied for 32nd. Ryan Nickell shot an 80 for the Warriors.
Moren was at even par before a triple bogey on the seventh. He made the turn at 6-over 42 and then made three birdies on the back nine.
Junior College Golf
NORCAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, at Brookside Country Club, Stockton -- Chris Jamero of Modesto JC shot a 158, and teammates Robbie Freese and Joel Hopkins shot 166 and 169. Jamero finished the second round with birdies on Nos. 17 and 18, but the Pirates trio didn't advance. Sierra won the team championship with a 350 total.
High School Golf
DIVISION IV SECTION CHAMPIONSHIPS, at Greenhorn Creek, Angels Camp -- Colfax won the team championship with a 406 total, and the battle for low medalist came down to two players from the Valley Oak League. Kevin Rei of Sonora shot a 75 to edge Kyle Harman of East Union by one stroke.
