GUSTINE — Clint Manzo didn't exactly have his best stuff when he pitched against Waterford last week.
His stuff was much better Wednesday.
Manzo struck out 12 of the 13 Millennium batters he faced and pitched a four-inning no-hitter as Gustine High (2-2) routed the Falcons 16-0 in a nonleague baseball game.
An error prevented Manzo from a perfect game.
Manzo lowered his ERA to 0.84. Against Waterford last week, Manzo allowed three hits and two walks in 1ª innings in a 7-1 loss. Only one of the five runs Manzo allowed was earned.
BEYER 15, TULARE WESTERN 6, at Clovis — The Patriots (3-3) scored eight runs in the top of the third en route to a blowout victory over Tulare Western (1-4) in the Coca-Cola Classic. Mason Ankeney had three hits, including a home run.
TRACY 14, CERES 4, at Ceres — Stevie Ramos reached base all five times and had a home run, triple, four RBIs and scored three runs to lead Tracy (5-1) over Ceres (1-3). Zach Atchison drove in three runs for Ceres.
FOLSOM 4, DOWNEY 3, at Downey — The Knights (0-3-2) had runners on first and second with no outs in the seventh against the Bulldogs (2-0) but couldn't get them home. Kirk Rocha homered for Downey and Tyler Caldwell had two RBIs.
HUGHSON 7, LIVINGSTON 2, at Hughson — Four double plays, including one to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth, helped the Huskies defeat the Wolves. David Villarreal had two RBIs for Hughson.
ESCALON 8, WESTON RANCH 2, at Walker Vick Tournament — Nick Largent took over in the fourth and went on to strike out six as Escalon (4-1) beat Weston Ranch (0-2). Thomas Ray drove in two runs and scored three for Escalon.
MANTECA 9, HILMAR 8, at Manteca — Tim Larson had a double, single and five RBIs to help the Buffaloes (2-3-1) defeat the Yellowjacets.
RIVERBANK 10, WATERFORD 9, at Riverbank — Miguel Hernandez scored on a passed ball with two outs to cap a five-run seventh and give the Bruins (1-2) a win over the Wildcats (3-2). Isaiah O'Connor, C.J. DeDeaux and Jordan Goman had three hits for Waterford.
SIERRA 10, ATWATER 3, at Sierra — Andy Scott was 3 for 3 with three RBIs to help the Timberwolves (4-0) defeat the Falcons (2-5). Sierra pitcher Andrew Gabriel went five innings, allowing all three Atwater runs while striking out 11.
MERCED 5, HILMAR 0, at Merced — Stephanie Montes scored the first goal and the last two as the Bears handed the Yellowjackets (7-1) their first loss.
STAGG 2, ORESTIMBA 1, at Orestimba — The Delta Queens (4-1) scored twice in the first 10 minutes. Elyn Taylor scored for the Warriors (1-2-2).
DENAIR 3, RIPON CHR. 0, at Denair — Jessi Cole and Annie Andersen assisted on each other's goals in the first half, and Yadira Garcia scored on a free kick in the second half. Denair (1-0) goalie Annissa Turpin made six saves.
CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1, BRADSHAW CHRISTIAN 0 — Kendall Wesenberg finished a cross from Jessica Kent and scored in the 39th minute as the Raiders won. Raiders goalie Madison F. Oliveira made 11 saves.
GUSTINE 11, GOLDEN VALLEY 3, at Gustine — Marissa Longoria went 4 for 4 and drove in the final run for the Redskins (6-2) in the sixth inning in their win over the Cougars (0-2).
SIERRA 181, CENTRAL VALLEY 241, at River Oaks — Michael Hajenga and Miguel Dominguez each shot 3-over 34, and all five players shot below 40 as the Timberwolves (1-0 VOL) opened league play with a win over the Hawks (0-1 VOL).
RIPON CHRISTIAN 5, ORESTIMBA 2, at Ripon — The Knights (1-1) won four of five doubles matches to hand the Warriors (4-1) their first loss.
