Peterson runs wild
Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson rushed for 253 of his single-game record 296 yards in the second half and scored three touchdowns as the Vikings beat the San Diego Chargers 35-17. In his first eight games since being taken No. 7 overall out of Oklahoma in April's draft, Peterson has dominated like no rookie before him, becoming the first to rush for 200 yards in a game twice in his first season.
Cowboys lasso win
Nearly two years to the day after he was banished from the Eagles, Terrell Owens (pictured here taunting the crowd) caught 10 passes for 174 yards and one touchdown to help the Dallas Cowboys dismantle Philadelphia 38-17. Tony Romo threw three TD passes, Marion Barber had 106 total yards and one score, and the NFC East-leading Cowboys improved to 7-1 for the first time since 1995.
Never miss a local story.
