Riverbank, trailing 2-0 to Ripon at halftime and trying to keep pace with Escalon in the Trans-Valley League standings, needed someone to step up and score some goals.
Enter Ramiro Calderon.
The senior midfielder found the back of the net four times to help the Bruins force a 4-4 draw with the host Indians, who also had a player with a big scoring day. Junior midfielder Eric Cavanaugh added to his TVL-leading goals total with a hat trick. He finished the regular season with 36 goals.

Riverbank finished league play at 12-2-1, a half game behind Escalon (13-2) and will face the Western Athletic Conference's No. 1 seed.
ESCALON 2, MODESTO CHR. 0, at Modesto Christian -- Armando Becerra scored his sixth goal of the season and Lance Reece his second as the playoff-bound Cougars (19-3-3, 13-2 TVL) beat the Crusaders (10-9-1, 6-9) in a regular-season finale. Julio Farias and Bill Cervantes combined in goal for Escalon's ninth shutout.
"You always love to win them, but if you lose, you might as well walk off going, 'Wow, we worked hard,' " Crusaders assistant coach Clive Grimbleby said of the clean, well-played game.
CENTRAL CATHOLIC 3, ORESTIMBA 2, at Orestimba -- The Raiders (14-6, 10-5) are tied for second place in the Western Athletic Conference after the 12-25, 25-14, 14-25, 25-21, 15-11 win over the Warriors (22-9, 10-5).
Orestimba coach John Labno said, "Central Catholic kept fighting back. They worked really hard. They forced us to make errors and we did."
HILMAR 3, PATTERSON 1, at Patterson -- Caitlin Benning and Krystal Gaglio had seven kills to help the Yellowjackets (27-3, 14-1) to a 25-12, 25-16, 20-25, 25-14 win over the Tigers (10-20, 3-12).
TURLOCK CHR. 3, DENAIR 0, at Turlock -- TC (21-12, 12-3 SL) warmed up for the section playoffs with a 25-11, 25-15, 25-16 win over the Coyotes (9-14, 3-12) that ended the regular season. Mallory Iltis had nine kills for the winners and Bianca Davoodian four aces and seven blocks. Janay Bankston had eight kills for Denair.
MARIPOSA 3, LE GRAND 2, at Mariposa -- Carina Stephens had 14 kills and seven digs to help the Grizzlies (14-7, 11-4 SL) hand the Bulldogs (19-2, 14-2) a 18-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 15-4 defeat. Both teams are going to the playoffs. Briana Giampaoli had eight kills for Le Grand.
VOL SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS, at Weston Ranch -- Top-seeded McKenzy Harden of Ceres improved to 32-0 this season by winning three matches en route to the final of the Valley Oak League Singles Championships. Harden will face No. 3 seed Carley Steichen of Sonora for the title on Thursday at Weston Ranch.
Harden, the runner-up last year as a freshman, drew a first-round bye and lost only six games in her next three matches.
