Big Valley Christian High used the wind to its advantage Monday and pulled away in the second half to a 5-2 nonleague soccer victory over visiting Vacaville Christian.
Quinn Harter, Peter Bannan and Andres Guerra scored for the Lions (11-2-1) in the second half. Harter and Bannan scored two goals each against Vacaville Christian (1-11).
Harter scored one on a header off a corner kick by Kyle Johnson.
"It was a great spot for Kyle to put it, and Quinn put it in the upper right-hand corner," Big Valley coach Ryan Poling said. "Beauty."

Harter leads Big Valley with 18 goals. Bannan, who recently moved from defense to outside midfielder, has three goals, and Johnson has a team-high 13 assists.
MARIPOSA 4, DELHI 0, at Delhi -- Jason Buskeness scored less than two minutes into the game, and Steven LeMessurier made eight saves to record his seventh shutout as the Grizzlies (13-1-3, 4-0-2 Southern League) blanked Delhi (2-3-1 SL).
LIVINGSTON 6, ORESTIMBA 0, at Livingston -- Six players scored for the Wolves (9-3-1, 5-0-1 Western Athletic Conference) in their win over the Warriors, including a 20-yard shot by Martin Arista into the upper right corner of the net for a 3-0 halftime lead.
PATTERSON 6, CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0, at Patterson -- Eduardo Chin and Sergio Hinojosa each scored twice in the first half as the Tigers (14-2, 6-0 WAC) blanked the Raiders (1-5-1). Hinojosa has 19 goals this season.
ESCALON 3, RIPON 2, at Escalon -- The teams went back and forth before the Cougars (19-2-1, 5-1 Trans-Valley League) beat the Indians (11-5, 5-1) 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-25, 15-10 to pull into a tie for first place in the TVL. Caitlin Braten had 17 digs and 10 kills for Escalon. Meredith Perkins had 35 digs for Ripon, and Kirsten Duren had 15 kills.
MODESTO 3, ENOCHS 0, at Modesto -- Kaitlyn Klein served nine aces as part of her fine all-around game, and the Panthers (7-0 Modesto Metro Conference) swept the Eagles 25-12, 25-10, 25-20. Ashley Nickell had 10 kills and Heather Sinclair eight for Modesto. Renee Pico had nine digs, six kills and four aces for Enochs (1-6).
DOWNEY 3, DAVIS 0, at Davis -- The Knights (6-1 MMC) swept the Spartans (0-7) 25-10, 25-20, 25-20 in a match that featured several long rallies. Elise Neville had 13 kills and served four aces for Downey. Megan Willey had six kills and five blocks for Davis.
JOHANSEN 271, DAVIS 294, at Modesto Muni -- Christine Uhalde shot a 38 for the Vikings (11-0 MMC), missing her season low at Muni by one stroke.
MODESTO 252, BEYER 264, at Creekside -- Whitney Davis shot a personal-best 47 to support Summer Uhrik's 46 and help the Panthers (9-2 MMC) beat the Patriots. Modesto lowered its season-best total by 10 strokes, and it was the Panthers' first match this season with two players in the 40s.
