60-year-old man killed in Modesto crash

A 60-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after he lost control of his vehicle south of Modesto and crashed into a power pole.

The Modesto man, who has not been identified, was driving west on Keyes Road west of Crows Landing Road at about 3:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

For unknown reasons he lost control of his vehicle, veered across the eastbound lane and drove off the shoulder into a power pole.

The man was taken to a Doctors Medical Center with major injuries and died a short time later.
