A motorcyclist died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 99 in Modesto, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident happened at 7:40 a.m.
Officer Aaron Keller said the victim, a 62-year-old Livingston resident, traveled north on 99 at approximately 60 mph in the fast lane when he came upon traffic that had slowed near South Ninth Street.
He went into the median and was ejected from his 2004 Harley-Davidson Road King, Keller said.
The man was taken to Doctors Medical Center, where he later died. He had been wearing a helmet.
His name is being withheld pending notification of kin, Keller said.
