A Modesto man escaped injuries this morning after he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed on Scenic Drive a few feet east of Bodem Avenue in Modesto, CA, on Feb. 24, 2010. Mario Garcia said he was driving westbound on Scenic when he was changing lanes and apparently got clipped by a car from behind. That sent his car spinning onto the curb and into shrubs that border the cemetery. Garcia, who was on his way to work, said he didn't see or feel the other car from behind, but was told by witnesses his car had been struck. The crash, which occurred at about 8:30 a.m., created a traffic backup on Scenic into downtown. (Brian Clark/bclark@modbee.com)
