SACRAMENTO -- Authorities issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday, saying a 28-year-old man sexually assaulted his estranged wife and took off with their 3-year-old son in the morning.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies responded to a possible domestic violence situation in North Highlands/Foothill Farms area off Palm Avenue at about 10:30 a.m., Sgt. Tim Curran said. Authorities said David Olteanu had tied up his 28-year-old wife and told her he was leaving the country with the child. He was last seen leaving Oroville, where he stopped by his relatives' home to pick up some weapons, Curran said. The relatives are less than cooperative, Curran said.
Olteanu is described as 5-feet-6 and 196 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He was driving a dark blue 2008 Chrysler 300C with California license plate 6DBR388.
His son is Alexsandr Olteanu. He is 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt and underpants.
Authorities say David Olteanu reportedly has several firearms in the vehicle, including an assault rifle. The public should not approach, or attempt to contact, Olteanu, but to call 911 if he or his vehicle is spotted.
