A man suspected of driving under the influence hit six parked cars on two Modesto streets Monday before being stopped by two males, pulled out of his Jeep Cherokee and held on the ground until police arrived, police said.
They arrested 31-year-old Arturo Quilizapa on suspicion of misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving under the influence, Modesto police Lt. Mike Perine said.
He said police received the first call about 4:15 p.m., when someone reported the green Jeep Cherokee had hit two parked cars on Celeste Drive; soon after, they received reports the Jeep hit four parked cars on Lancey Drive. Nobody was hurt.
Perine said police found a bottle of tequila in the Jeep, and it was three-quarters empty.
