Modesto police have arrested a second suspect in the death of a 31-year-old man who was shot Friday near his home in the airport neighborhood.
Juanmingo Becerra, 20 of Modesto, was found at a house in the 300 block of Claribel Road early this morning, according to a police department news release.
SWAT teams from Modesto Police and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s department surrounded the house about 2:30 am today. Becerra tried to run out the back of the house but was met by SWAT officers on the perimeter. He surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. Another man and a pregnant woman were inside the house and came outside. Neither was involved in the homicide and they were not detained. Becerra was taken to the Stanislaus County Jail and booked on one count of murder.
A 15-year-old boy had been arrested Saturday in the death of Jaime Torres, 31.

Investigators believe Becerra was the shooter. They also believe the slaying is the result of internal fighting among Norteño gang members.
The shooting occurred about 3:30 p.m. at Larkin and Thrasher avenues, three blocks east of South Santa Cruz Avenue and a block north of an elementary school.
Residents said they heard at least three gunshots and ran out to find Torres lying in the middle of the street.
