 1  SOUNDS LIKE SANTANA

Caravanserai, conceived by lead guitarist Leo Herrera, pays tribute to Santana's 40-year history. The group plays all the band's hits, including "Evil Ways," "Black Magic Woman," "Oye Como Va" and "Smooth." The San Francisco Chronicle called the group "the finest Santana tribute band in the country."

 2  A BLUE EYES CHRISTMAS

Kick off the holiday season by attending "Christmas My Way: A Sinatra Holiday Bash." Sierra Repertory Theatre's musical revue features four singers, a jazz trio and more than 40 Sinatra standards.  3  URBAN ART

Artful Living 2009, a designer salvage urban art show, premières today with a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception attended by featured artist Kristi Hughes and others. The show highlights furniture and artwork created in part with salvaged materials such as steel from a steel yard. Other artists participating are David Bienkowski, Pamela Holmes, Cathy Richardson, Aja Hughes and Ed Crosby. After this weekend's première, Hughes will host a designer showcase/open house at several area businesses. Portions of proceeds from items sold during the show will benefit the Center for Human Services, a nonprofit group that provides services to strengthen youth and families.

 4  ART WALK

Downtown Modesto's Third Thursday Art Walk resumes. Among the highlights this month: The Mistlin Gallery presents the art of cancer survivors and their families in "Beyond Surviving — Where Life and Color Met" and Crow Trading Company presents "Art of Monsterville I," featuring the works of Robert Gilkerson. The Mistlin Gallery also will have a cover band playing music of the '60s and '70s.

 5  LORDS A-LEAPING

Based on Irish folklore, "Lord of the Dance" centers on a battle between the good title character and the evil Don Dorcha, Lord of Darkness. The production features a cast of 40, a singer and fiddlers who perform to high-energy recorded music. Since the show debuted in Ireland in 1996, it has been seen by more than 50 million people in 60 countries.

 6  FUN COMES NATURALLY

"Think and Drink Green" is a social event featuring outdoor- and wildlife-themed art and photography, organic wine and beer and musical entertainment. Modesto climbing legend Royal Robbins will sign his autobiographical book, "My Life." The event is co-sponsored by the Tuolumne River Trust, the local Yokuts Group of the Sierra Club and Camp 4 Wine Cafe.
