 1  Guitar duo

International guitar duo Stevan Pasero and Richard Patterson have together released more than 50 CDs and sold millions of records. Their latest album "Milonga de Amor" was released in March. Pasero has a passion for classical guitar, jazz, flamenco, Brazilian and tango music. Patterson directed the Guitar Foundation of America Conference in 2008 and is founding director of the Omni Foundation for the Performing Arts in San Francisco. The duo performed in Modesto in April 2008 with flutist Bettine Clemen at Gallo Center.

Ian Anderson, the flute-playing frontman of 1970s rock band Jethro Tull ("Aqualung"), plays with his own band. He is inviting guests from jazz, classical, rock and world music to share the stage for his eclectic acoustic tour. The group will perform new works as well as old songs from the Jethro Tull back catalogue.

Named "Best local hip-hop legend" by San Francisco Weekly in 2005, rapper Andre Nickatina is best known for his 2003 CD "Conversation with A Devil." His other albums include "Tears of a Clown" (1999) and "These R The Tales" (2000). "He's armed with a constant cadre of great hooks and a rugged street reportage style that's alternately enthralling and scary," San Francisco Weekly wrote.

 4  Symphony

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra presents its concert, Premiere Percussion: Beethoven 4. Percussionist William Hill will perform his piece "Seven Abstract Miniatures" while showing slides of his accompanying artwork. The orchestra also will play the world premiere of Alexander Miller's "Remix in D (Inspired by Pachelbel's Canon in D)" and perform Beethoven's Fourth Symphony.

 6  Architecture

The third annual Modesto Architecture Film Festival features three films about world architecture: "Angle of Inspiration" about Redding's controversial Sundial Bridge, "True to Form" about Vladimir Ossipoff, known as the "Frank Lloyd Wright of Hawaii," and "Architect of Dreams" about New Zealand architect Ian Athfield. This event is hosted by the American Institute of Architects Sierra Valley Chapter, the State Theatre, the Modesto Film Society and the Modesto Art Museum.
