Black Irish CD Release Party

Sonora mainstay the Black Irish Band celebrates its 20th year and its 20th album with a CD release party Nov. 14 at the Jack Douglass Saloon.

The new 14-song CD, "Twenty," contains historic ballads and instrumentals as well as three new original songs.

The album features guest artists Mic Gilette of Tower Of Power on cornet and trombone and Margie Butler from Golden Bough on Irish harp.

The five-member Black Irish Band has a musical style that features traditional maritime and railroad music as well as Irish, Scottish, Italian, and American folk music.

The release party begins at 7 p.m. There's a $5 cover. The Jack Douglass is located at 22718 Main St., Columbia State Park. 533-4176
