Bells are ringing

Modesto's Opus Handbell Ensemble performs Sunday as the first program of the St. James Concert Series in Columbia. The show begins at 3 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of the 49ers, Jackson and Gold streets.

The program will include "The Syncopated Clock," "Contemplation on Ubi Caritas" and several Christmas songs, including "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Wassail Song."

There are five other concerts in the series, which runs through May 16. Tickets are $55 for the series or $12 for an adult individual ticket and $5 for students under 18; 984-0704.
